This is my favourite hotel. The room is small, but this is expected in Japan. It was clean, the breakfast is lovely. The staff is polite and helpful. The hot springs are incredibly relaxing. They provide all sorts of products to pamper yourself. This is a highly recommended place.

I lived in dormy inn Akihabara last time I came to Japan and loved it so chose dormy inn again this time. I spent my first 6 days in dormy inn Akihabara and 4 days here. Though this one looks fancier, is right in Asakusa and the room is much larger than it in dormy inn Akihabara, I won’t choose this hotel again. The first reason is cleaness. This hotel asks customers to take off their shoes before entering so I guess cleaness is more important becuase people walk with their socks or even bare foot. I saw a previous customer’s sock in my room (see the pic) which is disgusting. I also saw people wear their shoes in front of the locker which is tatami area but they were’t corrected. I guess it is much more difficult to maintain this kind of Japanese style hotel with so many customers here. In ruch hour, the floor of public bath room isn’t clean either. I walked from Osen to the clothes locker and my feet were dirty again with hair and dust. The second reason is location. Yes, this one is right in Asakusa, how better it can be? It depends. If your trip is more around Shibuya or places along Ginza line ( Omotesendo, Ginza, etc), it takes more than 12 min to walk to Ginza line. 12 min isn’t much but compared to dormy inn Akihabara which takes 2 min to Ginza line, it isn’t that convenient. If you want to experience traditional Japanese style hotel with onsen, don’t have high requirement of cleaness and want to enjoy Asakusa right in front of your hotel, this is a great place though.

The hotel is set up to enjoy the natural springs and it has a very nice system. The buffet breakfast was very good. Staff is very attentive.

There could be more staff who can speak English a little better. But they are very professional and get the job done, even with a language barrier.

Rooms are on the smaller side so I recommend upgrading to the bigger room. Even then it just barely fits two large luggages. The free soba and onsen are a pleasure to use after a long days walk. Location is great for asakusa but it is a bit if a walk to the more common subway stations.

Rooms are very clean. I cannot find a fault here. Service staff is not always friendly. Sometimes curt but it may be a language issue, I’m not sure. You will still get your requests fulfilled though. Location wise- amazing. Turn left from the hotel’s main door and you will soon find yourself at a tax free shop and further down a 24hr Don Quijote. Many toy catcher game options around. Turn right from hotel and you are at one of the side entrance of Sensoji temple. There’s quite a few small pubs just beside the hotel so it’s a fun place to stay. The Onsen here is the reason we chose Dormy. Ice cream and yakult Onsen treats 👍. Complimentary ramen supper from 9.30-11pm awesome!

Lovely hotel, perfect location as well. Can't speak highly enough of this place... Great value for money, lovely onsen, nice and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choice. I would definitely come back here without hesitation.
